How We Invest In You

We consider you one of our greatest assets and are active in helping you achieve your career goals. Increasing your knowledge and skills not only makes you and your team stronger and more effective but the company as well. At the beginning of your employment during the onboarding process you were given a description of your job that outlines some of your key responsibilities, these evolve overtime as your skills and knowledge increase, or job responsibilities are shifted. As a result, you may be required to do assignments or tasks not listed on the job description. If you have any questions, please speak with your supervisor or contact the HR Department.

Performance Reviews

Goals and Feedback

We use performance reviews as a tool to clearly define what is expected, what has been achieved, as well as your potential and development within the company. Reviews usually occur at or around your annual anniversary or the end of the 90 day probationary period. Reviews do not always happen on an annual basis. Reviews may be extended, and you may be reevaluated should we decide that your performance needs immediate improvement. Reviews can also be given after a promotion or job title change. Feedback on your performance is often requested from other team members on site or those you may have contact with at the Corporate office. This helps to give an accurate and all-around review of your performance. Reviews also include positive and negative performance logs, any type of write up and your attendance record. Sometimes reviews come with very specific goals. These goals may be personal goals that you want to accomplish, or goals set by your supervisor for your property or department. All goals are meant to help you grow. It is very important that you aspire to achieve those goals. Often reviews come with an increase but this is not always guaranteed.

Quantity and Quality of Work

We have some amazing and dedicated employees at Capstone Multifamily Group. We are so very thankful for these people and honestly, they set the bar high for what is expected in the different positions. For example; District Managers who go above and beyond to make sure their teams have what is needed to be successful, Property Managers who organize things and help everyone be as efficient as possible, Assistant Property Managers who help carry the load and act as a support to the whole team, Leasing Agents who know how to seal the deal and spot quality residents, Maintenance staff that knows what needs to be done, how it needs to be done and who do not hesitate going in and taking care of business in a professional and courteous manner, a Corporate staff that is so willing to do whatever is necessary to keep it all together and educate new employees on company policies and procedures. These are the type of people that just make things work and run smoothly.

From time to time we do get employees who just want to coast and get away with doing as little as possible. Or we have employees who slack off and do not care if they make mistakes. This is not fair to the team and it is probably one of the top 5 reasons for terminations at this company.

“Telling some people not to waste time is a waste of time.” ― Mokokoma Mokhonoana

How to tell if this applies to you, if you answer yes to any of these questions then, it does, and you should make every effort to self-correct.

To be successful at what you do, you need quantity of quality.

Promotions

Capstone tries to promote from within when possible. The important thing to remember about promotions is seniority or experience may be a deciding factor. The desired position must be available and sometimes that may require a relocation. To be considered for a promotion you must excel at your current position, have no attendance issues or discipline actions and be recommended by your supervisor.  If you do receive a promotion you will be placed on another probationary period for the new role much like if we hired someone else outside of the company. If you were unable to perform in the new role you may be demoted or possibly terminated if the previous position were no longer available.

Education

Our company believes in supporting individual growth and as an added benefit we offer job related professional development reimbursement to our employees. If you are interested in obtaining a license, certification or any other type of training please discuss this with your supervisor.

Grace Hill and the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) worked together to create content for credentials such as Certified Apartment Manager. Because Grace Hill is an industry leader in training, we have decided to give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge at no cost to you. The courses are assigned based on job title and are available for you to work on in your down time.

Due to our industry classification we are required by OSHA to make sure that all employees take part in safety trainings, which are also assigned on the Grace Hill platform.
